NURTURE FURTIVE IDEAS AND PRODUCE DEGENERATE PROGRAMME MATERIAL.
Coke Oven is a database, directory, Library and index of Zine. It is designed to allow easier discovery and sharing of content between Zine makers, readers and collectors.
It was founded under the idea of being a gradually growing and evolving resource which can be utilised by artists and those seeking art to make it easier to access content and connect more directly with creators to get hold of their work.
Not long after getting into the Zine community with his project Null Point Graham found a consistent issue which was gradually frustrating him. Zines are fantastic and independently produced products but their life span can be short and volatile and as such Pages, Websites and blogs related to them tend to linger and fall the way side. Not to mention online selling platforms gradually shifting to a pay to play model. So you’re met with dead links and 404’s and a struggle to get your work out and try to find new copies which interest you.
With a background in project management Graham decided to put his knowledge and small amount of funds to good use and formed Coke Oven in 2021.
Coke Oven is a not for profit Zine directory. A large ever growing resource and database which aims to give Zine fans better access to Zines and Artists more direct access to an audience. It does this by maintaining a free database/library anyone can submit to and categorising base on topic and price point only. There is no algorithm or pay wall it’s just a resource who’s usefulness depends on audience involvement.
If you’d like to know more about it you can contact Graham or if you’d like to submit a zine/learn more visit coke-oven.com.
